Illuminating EMR Data

Improved patient access and optimisation of staff resources have been enabled following the development of a suite of EMR reports for the Children’s Pain Management Clinic (CPMC) to better understand demand and utilisation.

The Centre for Health Analytics worked collaboratively with the CPMC to develop a suite of EMR reports optimise patient access by better understanding their staffing requirements, patient demographics, referrals, and scheduling.

While the clinic coordinator estimated that collating this data would have taken two years, it only took 20 hours of analyst time, and can now be accessed and analysed by the staff in the CMPMC team at any time to improve the services provided.
